Why do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
Making an appointment allows our consultants to be better prepared for your arrival. Also, appointments allow us a way to control the number of people in the store at one time- which lets us focus on each bride individually and give her a memorable experience.

How long is my appointment?

We try to keep appointment length to 1 hour to 1 ½ hours. If a bride needs more time, we always suggest booking another appointment in the days following her first appointment.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring pictures of dresses you’ve seen on our website, in magazines, on www.theknot.com, or that you’ve tried on elsewhere. And bring an open mind: your consultant might pull some gowns that are “out of the box” from what you initially were wanting. Our job is not only to listen to your wish-list, but to challenge you and give you some great exposure to other gown styles. And don’t be surprised if you find “the dress” on your first visit to “I do” Bridal!

Who should I bring to my appointment?

Bring the closest friend or family member whose opinion you value and who knows you well and with whom you want to share the experience of buying your gown. Bringing more than 3 others can take the focus off of you.

What size gowns are available for me to try on?

Most of our samples are the traditional sample size, which is 8-12. We also carry a selection of designer plus-size samples.

May I take pictures of the gowns while I try them on?

Yes! After you’ve tried on multiple gowns, it can become difficult to remember just what each dress looks like. Pictures are a great way to remember exactly which gowns you are interested in. We have had some brides change their minds on certain gowns based on how they look photographed!

Can I complete my entire look in one appointment?

Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their dress on their first visit to our salon, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, shoes, jewelry etc) on their first visit.

Do I need to make an appointment to look at accessories?
Nope! Feel free to come in anytime and we will be happy to help you with shoes and accessories.

Buying

How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?

We always suggest ordering your bridal gown about 6-10 months ahead of your wedding. This allows time for the gown to be made, shipped, and altered- plus it’s good to have a little cushion time as brides tend to get very busy before the big day!

What is a special-order gown?

Most of the gowns we sell are special-order- you can pick the size and color of the gown based off the designer’s options. Many gowns are available in petite length or with extra length for a fee, and some gowns can be ordered with minor custom changes for a fee, like extra train length or increased cup size. Most designers do not begin constructing a wedding gown until it is ordered, but it is important to note that gowns are NOT custom made to your measurements. Your consultant will take your measurements and will discuss with you what size will work best.

When should I expect to receive my gown?

Your gown will typically arrive 4-6 months after it is ordered. Some designers might have gowns in stock or already in production, and those gowns can arrive much more quickly, but selection will be greatly limited. All gowns are delivered to us directly from the designer and we perform a thorough quality control check on each gown. Once we are satisfied the gown is perfect, we’ll call you to schedule a first fitting or arrange shipping and final payment.

How do I pay for my gown?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover as well as cash and personal checks. Personal checks are only accepted for deposit, not final payment.

If you are ordering a special-order gown, we require a minimum 50% deposit at the time you order your gown. When the gown arrives at “I do” Bridal and passes our quality control check, we’ll contact you to let you know and to schedule a fitting. At that point, we require payment of the remaining balance, if you did not pay the full balance at the time of ordering. You can always take care of the remaining balance before the gown arrives as well.

If you are buying a sample gown off the rack, we require a minimum 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due before we begin alterations or the gown is taken out of the store.

If you’ve requested that we ship your gown out of state, your balance must be paid for in full before it can be shipped.

Can I get a swatch of the color of my gown?

Absolutely! We can order a swatch from the designer free of charge. Keep in mind that dye-lots do vary, so we can’t guarantee that it will be a perfect match- but rarely has it ever been a problem.

What are the price ranges for your gowns?

Destinations Bridal Gown: $150.00-$600.00
Average Price Point: $800.00-$1800.00
Higher Price Point: $ 2000.00-$3800.00
Discontinued styles and Off-the-rack samples can be much less, discounted up to 70% off.
